I am aware that it is easier to read if it is a boxed layout but when it comes to a resources page like this one, a small box with a right sidebar may not be the most optimal choice.
The reading section of this page is around px. Maybe you can try different layouts for different pages depending on the nature of the page or post. Easier Reading Vs. Less Scrolling.
